Snow days

Last week school was either cancelled or we had late starts due to icy conditions so it was time to put on the boots and hats and play outside…………personally I would have liked to stay inside in the warm but hearing ……….”mom outside’ mom outside, MOM OUTSIDE” constantly can bring the most patience person (which I am not) to the edge…so outside we go.

The only thing better than splashing in water with your boots on………breaking ice to splash in water with your boots on………

Please no more snow days for a while……………….

Playgroup christmas party………and you thought xmas was over!

A couple of thursday ago we had our late playgroup christmas party. We didn’t plan for it to be late but due to sickness, christmas pressure and husbands being off, it just kept getting cancelled. Anyway, it happen, everyone had a great time and loved their gifts. In fact, it looks like a new tradition has been born. Being the thifty gals that we are, we realised that after christmas, you were able to buy in the sales, re-gift or have more time to spend on making that special something…………..

Lola is into Thomas the Tank engine in a big way at the moment so she was overjoyed with her Thomas toothbrush holder (brushing or should I say chewing her toothbrush is her next biggest passion).

It is hard to get a group pic these days but luckily Running Stitch knows how to work the timer on her camera (I will read my camera instruction manuel one day, really…….!). We thought we had done it until we noticed one kid missing………..

Time to redo but kids have little patience for do-overs.

For anyone still checking in from time to time, we are all still alive I am just extremely “bogged down” (is that even a word here in Amercia??.anyway most of my readers are in England………..most of my readers, sounds like I have a following, what I meant to say was for my readers  mum, my sis and Kath oh and Ruth I’m sure!LOL!) I digress……..I am bogged down with college work OMG sooooooooo much work! I have a 7 minute speech in front of the class (yes OMG I think I am going to be sick!), a 5 page argumentative paper, a 10 page research paper, 3 tests and 3 pieces of two page homework essays that needs to be done English in the next three weeks…yes 3 WEEKS! Then to move onto immediate algebra……..really, do I need to say more! Though the tragedy is I always remembered from my school days (though we are talking 18 years ago now………the memory could be a bit foggy) that I loved english and hated maths. This is not the case at present, English is giving me the harder time though mainly for the fact that there is just SO MUCH OF IT. Now if I could foster my kids out for the next 9 weeks…………..yes 9 weeks and counting till finals……………’m sure I would pass with flying colours!

So please bear with me…………..if not before I will update end of March after finals……….only kidding……….I think!

Charlie’s first report card

I received Charlie’s first report card today from his pre-school and I quote

“I have seen a dramatic overall improvement in Charlie. He is a joy. I look forward to watching him continue to grow.”

Lets hope every future report card he gets is so positive!

Happy New Year…….2008

Well I never saw 2008 in but then I haven’t seen a New Years Eve in since I was pregnant with Charlie in 2003-2004. However, we did go out to a friends home and celebrate till the late late time of 8.30 (hey when your kids bedtimes are 6pm and 7pm….8.30 is pushing it!). They were amazingly good and Dad was designated driver…………..wow my lifesounds pretty cool huh! Lots of new years resolutions to break………..but I will keep them to myself so noone knows exactly how many I have broken, lol

Zoo Lights

We went to see the zoo lights recently. I went on my own too which I thought was very brave (or stupid of me!). They were a handful but manageable. Though when it started to rain me and Lola had had enough but not my son. To look at him you would never have known it was pouring down, he was was happy just slowly wandering around, crying out in delight at each new animal he saw……

I must admit though the lights are pretty cool and I enjoy going every year……………more so when my husband comes along…maybe next year……………

The cleaning crew is in town………….

For christmas Lola got a cleaning set (no gender profiling here, cough, cough!). Anyway, Lola liked it, Charlie loves it! All morning we were asked to move chairs and things so Charlie could “vaccum”. It was so funny to watch him do all the things that I do with the vaccum. I wonder whether they will be as keen to help in a few years when they get their chores to do!

what’s in a name????????

I guess I never thought too far ahead when I came up with my blog name. Well to be honest I never thought I would keep going this long but I no longer have two toddlers. I have one pre-schooler and a little girl who is growing up fast………………..so do I keep the same name or change it??????? something to ponder…….any ideas anyone?????

Guess I should change my background too as it is no longer christmas………..

Merry Christmas

A real christmas miracle happened this morning, the kids stayed in bed till almost 8am (as opposed to the normal 5.30) and then to top it of they were good all morning! No arguing (well not much…this is real life after all, not a movie!!!) and no temper tantums.

Santa came and gave them lots of gifts, Charlie loved everything that Lola got and Lola was happy with whatever she was given. Then came the snow………..
