The Favour of God

The Favor of God

Today’s Scripture

“God earnestly longs to be gracious to you…to have mercy on you and show you His loving-kindness” (Isaiah 30:18).

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

God longs to pour out His favor upon you. He wants to remove your burdens so you can enjoy life. He wants you to be free and living each day full of peace. He wants to assist you and give you special advantages every single day. Today’s verse talks about God’s grace, mercy, and loving-kindness—which are all part of His favor! When you receive that favor by faith, you’ll have tremendous advantage! God’s favor will cause you to be promoted even though you weren’t the most qualified. God’s favor will open a door for you that may not open for someone else. God’s favor will bring unexpected blessing from unexpected sources. Activate your faith in this area today by declaring God’s favor in your life. Thank Him for his mercy and loving-kindness. As you expect His favor, God will do unusual and extraordinary things in your life and you’ll live the life of victory that God has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Prayer For Today: Father, thank you for your favor on my life today. Thank you for guiding me and reminding me of your presence in everything I do. Give me strength and peace today so that I can live in your victory today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I love this message as it reminds me that God is good and only wants the best for me. So often I feel condemned and feel that I am always failing God. I need to remember that God is merciful and will always grant forgiveness if i ask for it. I will keep this prayer close.

Believe and Receive

Believe and Receive

Today’s Scripture

“Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24, NIV).

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

Has God spoken things to your heart that haven’t come to pass yet? Sometimes when we are believing for things, it’s easy to let circumstances and the pressures of life drag us down. But when you make the choice to receive your promise by picturing it in your mind’s eye, and declaring it with the words of your mouth, your faith becomes stronger. You begin to feel more confident. You begin to feel more settled. You begin to have joy and peace because you know God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. What are you believing for God to do in your life today? Can you see it in your mind’s eye? Can you see yourself healed? Can you see yourself paying off that last debt? Can you see yourself at your ideal weight? Can you see yourself sharing the gospel with a family member or coworker? Ask the Lord to give you the picture of what He sees when He looks at you. As you open your heart and allow God’s thoughts to become your thoughts, and your receive His promises by faith, just like it says in the above verse—whatever you ask for in prayer will be yours!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for another day to serve You. Thank You for the gift of faith. I ask that you search my heart and mind and remove anything that does not please you. Give me your thoughts of peace and joy today so that I can learn to receive all you have for me today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Take Care for the Long term

Take Care for the Long Term

Today’s Scripture

“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones” Proverbs 3:7-8 (NASB).

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

A famous doctor once said, “It is easier to maintain good health than it is to try to regain your health once you’ve lost it.” So please make taking care of your body a priority, and do not allow yourself to fall off the edge of health. If you want to be used for by God here on this earth, you should maintain your instrument. Though God is in complete control, you have the responsibility to take care of your body daily. Eating in an unhealthy manner may or may not be a sin, but it is certainly at least a bad idea because God wants you to keep you holy temple clean for Him and His use. Instead of relying on your own wisdom, listen to God and follow His call to keep yourself healthy.

A Prayer for Today

God, thank You that You care so much about my spiritual and my physical health. I ask today for the commitment I need to be at my best for You in every area of my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Wow this is the perfect message for me. As you will have read in my Smart habit Saturday I am really trying to improve my eating habits.  I know to fully enjoy life, you have to feel good and the only way to feel great is to eat right. There is no getting around it…..believe me I have tried! hough I have to remember this BEFORE I put things in my mouth rather than after!!  I really believe that a lot of motivation, joy, energy and passion for life is lost just because we eat the wrong things. And I for one, am now trying to eat to live, rather than live to eat!!!!

Breaking God’s Laws

Breaking God’s Laws

Today’s Scripture

“I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do” Romans 7:15 (NIV).

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

Do you ever struggle to completely follow God, but sometimes feel like you’re fighting against yourself? Paul understood, because he wanted to do what he knew was right, but he often ended up doing the very thing he resisted. You know that when you break God’s spiritual law, there are going to be consequences; but what about breaking God’s physical laws? When you don’t take care of your body, God is not glorified and you can expect things to be more challenging than you’d like. God has set out laws and rules for your own good, because He wants you to be healthy and strong in every aspect of you life. If you will follow His instructions, you will receive the blessing that follows your obedience.

A Prayer for Today

God, I know that You have set up laws and boundaries for my own good. Give me strength to follow these and honor You so that I may receive the abundant blessings You have in store. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Seeing as I am trying to become more healthy, I thought this was the perfect message for me. Being the mother to two toddlers I need to high energy levels and I also want to be a great example to them. If i don’t eat well and exercise, I find I don’t have the energy or the drive for life that I need or want. I will keep this prayer handy and say it often as I try and become a “healthier me”.

Too Busy

Too Busy

Today’s Scripture

“You are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed.”
(Luke 10:41-42)

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

Ephesians 5:16 says to make the most out of every opportunity to do good. It’s difficult to believe that someone is making the most of their opportunities for good when they don’t even see the opportunities. Today, why not take a few minutes to see where you are in terms of how you’re spending your time. Are you making the most of every opportunity God gives you to do good for someone? Do you recognize those opportunities? Many Christians today make the same mistake as Martha did in Luke 10, and concern themselves with tasks instead of sitting at the feet of Jesus. Sit at the feet of Jesus today, and make sure you aren’t too busy to share His Word with others.

A Prayer for Today

God, help me not to worry about mundane things, but to be consumed by You. May I have boldness as I share Your Word with others. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Well this is one for us mothers and something I have really been trying to work on lately. I know  only have so much time and I want to use it in the most effective way.  I have been trying to get the balance right between quality kid time, me time, quality time with my husband and keep the house clean, tidy and organised……….still not there yet! but trying……..

Take Time to Listen

Take Time to Really Listen

Today’s Scripture

“And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.” (2 John1:6)

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

Sometimes friends give a quick piece of advice or a pat on the back when another person shares a problem or struggle. Sometimes they would even get a verse or two of Scripture, but that’s not always what Jesus would do. Jesus demands nothing less from you than to walk in love and be compassionate to others around you. Walking in love and truth demands that you respond to what you have heard. Many times the best thing to do is simply let the other person know that you hear them and that you are concerned for them. Jesus was truly concerned for the people around Him, and showed it by the attentive and caring way He listened to the people who came to Him. That same caring should be a goal for His followers as well.

A Prayer for Today

God, give me a compassionate spirit and willing heart. May I take the time to truly listen to the needs of others. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I think this is a great message and one I really need to remember daily. It is so easy to go through life, not really listening or connecting, especially with the kids, who some days seem to continuously “badgering” me. But I have to remember to take time to really listen to what they are trying to tell me. They may be throwing a tantrum but it may be because they want some one on one  attention, or they are hungry, or tired and just don’t have the words to explain to me yet. Whilst this lesson is most important with my kids, it also applies to everyone in my life. I have to remember to sometimes stop thinking about my to do list, stop doing the dishes, cooking the dinner, etc and really be present when I am talking to someone and hear all the conversation, not just the words they are speaking.

Be Delighted with the Lord

Be Delighted

Today’s Scripture

“Be delighted with the Lord. Then he will give you all your heart’s desires.”
(Psalm 37:4)

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

What really makes you happy? Most people in this life are happy and content with trying to find a decent job, getting married, and having a couple of children. There is nothing wrong with any of these, but is that the main point of life? God wants you to delight yourself in the things of Him. Things and people on earth can make you happy, but ultimately your greatest delight and joy should be in God. The reason this is important is because of what today’s verse says. When you make Him your delight, He will give you the desires of your heart. So if you really want joy and fulfillment, then make Jesus your delight!

A Prayer for Today

God, thank You for promising me blessings and strength as I serve You. May I rest in and put my joy in You and You alone. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
